Expendables 2 has Chuck Norris...Do I need to say more? Eh, probably.

I grew up watching old action flicks like Robocop and Predator. I have a deep respect for these men who ripped themselves up to appear larger than life. Arnold, Stallone, and Willis are men among men. So getting them together with an all-star cast of muscle bound meatheads is a wet dream. Expendables 2 doesn't disappoint.

The plot is very classic in that there is this bad guy with something very dangerous and he needs to be stopped. Of course there is more than just getting-the-job-done as motivation for the rag-tag group action heroes. Arnold and Willis get more screen time this time around and they're a blast to watch. They even steal each others one-liners from past movies. The appearance of Chuck Norris is as epic as it should be for that man. They even have one of the better Chuck Norris jokes in the movie. Jean-Claude Van Damme makes for a wonderful bad guy, which I would expect since he's been in so many action flicks. The cast performs superbly and the writing is actually quite witty. The language is actually toned down from the first one, not a single F-bomb was dropped amongst all the other explosives (of which there are many).

The action is wonderfully delivered. The gun fight scenes are as over the top as you'd expect and it fits so very well. The fist fighting scenes are very well choreographed as well. When Stallone fights Van Damme you feel like these guys are actually out there to kill each other with sound affects that Rival Indiana Jones' punches.

These guys know what they're doing in making this movie and have no shame in heckling the genre itself. The film is just as packed with humor as it is action. When I wasn't going "Oh, that must have hurt" I was laughing.

Its a great guy movie. If you liked movies like The Boondock Saints or older action flicks like Commando, you'll love this movie. The roll of the dice give it a 9/10. The only issue I had with the movie was that some actors weren't given enough screen time, but I understand getting them to as much as they did was probably all they could manage with scheduling conflicts. GO and see it if you haven't yet.
